DUTCH CORPSE/DEATH ROADS

Coincidentally and independently adding to and confirming some of Magin's rumininations, JOHN PALMER notes:

"In the province of Limburg, a 'kerkweg' (church road) and a 'Iijkenweg' (corpse road or death road) were both stipulated to be six feet wide... A Roman Catholic priest (deceased) in Limburg wrote that in some cases death or church roads ran towards the four cardinal directions with the church as central point. The roads ran then !straight to the church entrances, except at the cast, there being no entrance at the choir."
